Writing Alternative Text

Same directions for score, which depends on contextual level of detail needed. Note the instrument(s) that the part is for and if the piece is extracted from a wider score. Note: The example using "one flat key signature" is correct but it might be more accurate and representative to say "F major" or "D minor" key signature. However, this implies that the writer knows the key signature, so would be easier to keep the current example and let the user figure out based on other information available, which does present more complexity. A musician looking at a part would know the key signature based on the flats/sharps and the minor or major quality based on the note information, but a non-musician would not, so would depend on context for the image.

Example Alt Text

"Orchestral score begins at measure 150 in 4/4 time with a two-flat key signature. Four staves are labelled Woodwinds, Violin I, Violin II, and Viola. Woodwinds play changing chords with accidentals and rests, while the strings alternate sustained notes, rests, and short slurred figures. Dynamics progress from piano to forte and sforzando, with highlighted passages across the woodwind and string parts."
