A visual representation of a syntactic structure, in which the grammatical hierarchy is displayed through nodes and branches. Nomenclature can vary depending on the chosen theoretical framework.

Writing Alternative Text

Name the each element and its syntactic function, as labeled by the tree's nodes (e.g., VP, TP, CT – the nomenclature can of course vary depending on your theoretical framework). Please remember syntax trees can also be represented with regular text (using square brackets: [CP [TP [VP …] ] ]), in which case you won't need alternative texts.
